
Rules
We are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for all attendees at DinoCon. By attending, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines and respect the rights of others.
1. Respect and Courtesy
Treat all event participants, including fellow attendees, stallholders, DinoCon staff, University of Exeter staff, and speakers, with respect and kindness.
Harassment, discrimination, or any form of verbal, physical, or emotional abuse will not be tolerated.
Any form of disruptive or disrespectful behaviour, including but not limited to yelling, fighting, or making threats, is strictly prohibited.
All attendees must respect costume wearers and their costumes. Attendees must not photograph or touch other attendees’ costumes without their permission.
All attendees must respect vendors, their displays, and their wares. Attendees must not photograph or touch the items that vendors are selling, or their displays, without their permission.
2. Safe and Inclusive Environment
We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, religion, or background.
Any discriminatory or inappropriate comments or actions based on any identity or characteristic will not be tolerated. This will result in immediate removal from the event and banning from future events.
All attendees are expected to respect personal boundaries and be considerate of others’ space.
All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. There are no exceptions to this rule.
During the evening activities, all attendees aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
If you find a child unattended, please notify DinoCon event staff or University of Exeter event staff immediately.
3. No Harassment or Intimidation
Harassment of any kind, including sexual harassment, bullying, or intimidation, is prohibited. This includes unwelcome comments, gestures, or actions.
Attendees should immediately report any incidents of harassment or inappropriate behaviour to event staff or security.
4. Responsible Behaviour
Please behave responsibly and consider the impact of your actions on others. Reckless or harmful behaviour may result in removal from the event.
Keep personal belongings with you at all times and be mindful of the event space and others around you. DinoCon cannot be held responsible for theft or damage of personal belongings.
5. Event Space and Property
Respect the event venue and its property. Do not vandalize or damage any facilities, equipment, or materials. You will be held responsible for any damage you are found to have caused.
Please dispose of trash in the designated bins and keep public areas clean and tidy.
Smoking and vaping is not permitted inside any of the buildings, near entrances or open windows to any building, in the outside seating area, or the piazza.
6. No Illegal Activities
The use, possession, or distribution of illegal substances is strictly prohibited.
Any involvement in illegal activities will result in immediate removal from the event and may be reported to the authorities.
7. Attendee Participation
Follow any instructions provided by volunteers, staff, or security personnel.
If attending talks, panels, or workshops, please be respectful of speakers and presenters. Maintain appropriate decorum during presentations and refrain from disruptive actions, such as talking loudly or using electronic devices without respect for others.
When engaging with other attendees, vendors, staff, or speakers, please maintain a level of civility and respect.
8. Photography and Recording
Please be aware of any policies regarding photography, videography, or audio recording. Some sessions may have restrictions, and attendees should respect those guidelines.
If recording or taking photos of other attendees, always ask for permission first.
Attendees must ask permission from stallholders if they wish to record or take photos of their stalls, displays, and/or items for sale.
Do not take flash photography during talks and workshops.
There will be a professional photographer on site, hired by DinoCon organisers. Photos taken will be used by DinoCon for marketing and promotional purposes. By attending DinoCon, you agree to be photographed by this photographer and for those photos to be use by DinoCon for marketing.
9. Violations of the Rules
Attendees found violating these rules may be removed from the event without a refund.
In cases of serious violations, authorities may be contacted, and legal action may be pursued if necessary.
10. Reporting Issues
If you witness or experience a violation of these , please report it immediately to DinoCon event staff or security. Your report will be handled confidentially and promptly addressed.
