Health & Safety
The safety and security of our attendees, staff, and volunteers is our priority. We work closely with the venue, local and national authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for our events.
If you have accessibility needs or require assistance during the event, please contact us in advance at info@dinocon.co.uk or speak to a member of staff on-site at the DinoCon Merch Table (outside of the Vendor Hall).
General requirements:
Every DinoCon attendee must be aware of the following requirements at our events (Please see a full list of Rules HERE):
You must always carry a recognised form of photo ID.
Children must not be left unattended at any time.
You must comply with all event policies, signage, and instructions from event staff.
You must monitor your health and don’t come to the event if you are unwell.
You must be respectful of other attendees, staff, and vendors.
Violence, harassment, or abuse of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in immediate expulsion of the event without a refund.
You must adhere to the University of Exeter’s smoking policy. No smoking is permitted inside any building, by the entrance to any building, or in the courtyard area.
You must be respectful to the university campus by disposing of litter in appropriate bins and not intentionally damaging any university property.
Ticket Verification:
Upon registering at our event, you will be provided with a convention lanyard. You must display your convention lanyard at all times to denote that you hold a valid ticket. This is vital for monitoring the capacity of our event and for your safety. Please note that:
Security staff will approach attendees who are not displaying their convention lanyard and failure to provide proof of a valid ticket purchase will result in removal from the event.
Future events will have visually distinct lanyards.
Security:
DinoCon UK Ltd takes the safety and security of attendees and staff at its events very seriously, as does our host institution, the University of Exeter. The campus is patrolled by 24-hour security, monitored by CCTV, and additional security will be present on the day. You can expect:
Security safeguarding measures to be in place, including:
Valid ticket verification.
Physical screening/bag checks.
Monitoring and recording via CCTV.
Uniformed and plain-clothed security patrols.
Crowd management/stewards, signage and barriers, as necessary.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at info@dinocon.co.uk.
